Other than the internal BRD-SP8 Blu-ray writer, I-O Data introduces also the BRD-UXP8, an external Blu-ray burner. Basically the new BRD-UXP8 is just the external version of the BRD-SP8.
The burner is again made by Panasonic. It supports USB2.0 interface. BRD-UXP8 can write both single and double layer BD-R at 8x, single and double layer BD-RE at 2x. It can also burn DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW and DVD-RAM. CD-R/RW are, of course, supported.
This new Blu-ray burner is priced at 44500 Yen.
