Casio Hitachi Mobile Communications, a joint-venture of Casio and Hitachi, is utilizing the E Ink Vizplex Imaging Film based displays on their mobile phones, including the Hitachi W61H and Casio G’zOne.
Both phones will be available in Japan from KDDI au. The Hitachi W61H has a 2.7-inch diagonal E Ink display scrolls through 96 different images in a stylish animation and is activated when a call or message is received, or when the clamshell phone is opened for use. Casio’s G’zOne has also make use of the E Ink Vizplex as its Silhouette external display.
E Ink’s electrophoretic display offers 180-degree wide viewing angle, sunlight readability, ruggedness, ultra thin profile and low power consumption.
