SanDisk announced the Sansa View, its first widescreen portable media player .With a large 4-inch widescreen, the player offers optimal view in a pocket-able size. It supports a wide array of video, music and photo formats, and comes with 8GB of internal storage that is enough for up to 33 video hours or 2,000 songs or thousands of photos. There is also a SD/SDHC card slot additional storage space.
The Sansa View includes slideshow capability for showing photos with background music. It has built-in speaker and provides 3.5mm audio jack. There is also a 30-pin connector outputting video and audio content to a TV. SanDisk said that the player’s removable Li-Polymer battery can offer up to four hours of continuous video playback and 10 hours of continuous audio playback.
The Sansa View measures 78.5mm x 123mm x 16.9mm. It costs about $299 when it launched in the US in the first quarter this year.
