Korea Telecom (KT) presents the world’s first WiBro-enabled laptop. Not only WiBro (Wireless Broadband) which llows users to enjoy various services and makes extra WiBro SIM card superfluous, the laptop includes also WiFi and DMB. The laptop is powered by a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo processor, up to 1GB of RAM, and an 80GB HDD, 12.1-inch widescreen. It weighs 1.89kg and costs around $1700 to $2200.
WiBro is a wireless broadband internet technology being developed by the Korean telecoms industry. WiBro base stations will offer an aggregate data throughput of 30 to 50 Mbit/s and cover a radius of 1-5 km allowing for the use of portable internet usage within the range of a base station.
