Toshiba-Matsushita Display Tech (Joint venture between Toshiba and Matsushita which is Panasonic’s manufacturer) announces its new 12.1 inch wide display which is only 2.9mm thick. It has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels (WXGA) and uses low temperature polysilicon liquid crystal. The display is designed for notebooks and has a 300 cd/m2 brightness.
The display measures 270 x 2.9 – 4.5 x 180mm and weighs 182 g which is 32% lighter than traditional notebook LCD screens.
