HP announced the ElitePad 900, a Windows 8 tablet made for business featuring enterprise-grade features, functionality and support. The lightweight, slim ElitePad is built with premium materials such as CNC-machined aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass 2. It is powered by Intel’s Atom Z2760 1.8Ghz dual-core processor with 2GB of RAM and comes with up to 64GB SSD. Measuring just 9.2mm thick and weighs less than 1.5lbs, the tablet is easy to carry for mobile professionals.
The ElitePad 900 sports a 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS touchscreen display, a 8 Megapixel main camera with LED flash and a 1080p front-facing camera that is ideal for video conferencing. It comes with SRS Audio enhancement and is equipped with digital dual-array microphones. You can expect support for Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and NFC wireless connectivity. The tablet has a ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hand.
HP will release the ElitePad 900 in January 2013. Designed as the “true tablet for business”, the ElitePad 900 comes with a range of optional accessories to meet needs of business users. The ElitePad Productivity Jacket offers an integrated keyboard, connectivity ports, SD card reader and adjustable viewing angles for a complete computing experience, while the ElitePad Expansion Jacket adds USB, HDMI and other connectivity to the tablet. The HP Executive Tablet Pen lets you take notes and write messages in their natural handwriting directly on screen, and the ElitePad Docking Station can charge the tablet and turn it into a secondary display. HP will also bring the ElitePad Rugged Case for military-grade protection, and ElitePad Jacket battery for longer battery life.
