FujiFilm announced the X-Pro 1, its all-new premium interchangeable lens digital camera made to “deliver outstanding image quality that rivals current DSLR cameras”. The new camera packs FujiFilm’s newly developed 16 Megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS image sensor, incorporating a new filter array and Fujifilm’s EXR Processor Pro technology, “capable of delivering resolution that is parallel, if not superior, to a full frame sensor”.
The X-Pro 1 uses the brand new X-Mount with a short flange back distance of just 17.7mm, which is designed to maximize the mirrorless design of the body. The camera features the new Hybrid Viewfinder with the ability to instantly switch between an Optical Viewfinder and Electronic Viewfinder. For the brightest viewing image, and to keep shutter lag to a minimum, users should choose the Optical Viewfinder. Those wanting focus confirmation, exposure information, white balance information and depth of field indicators should switch to the Electronic Viewfinder. The X-Pro 1 offers ISO 200-6400 sensitivity, Motion Panorama feature, up to 6fps continuous shooting, RAW shooting (simutanoules RAW+JPEG supported), full manual mode. Extending FujiFilm’s photo film legacy, you can find Film Simulation modes, Professional Color Negative Film Modes, Enhance Monochrome Expression with Color Filters modes.
FujiFilm’s new interchanageable lens camera includes Ultra Sonic Vibration sensor cleaning system. It has a TTL hotshoe for adding accessories, a 3-inch LCD display, and SD/SDHD/SDXC card slot. Full HD 1080p videos are recorded in H.264 format with stereo sound and there is HDMI mini output for showing HD content on bigger screen.
To be launched with the camera are three Fujinon XF lenses, F18mmF2 R (27mm equivalent) f/2.0, XF 35mmF1.4 R (53mm equivalent) f/1.4, and XF60mmF2.4 R Macro (90mm equivalent) F/2.4. Other accessories include HG-XPro1 Hand Grip, EF-X20 Shoe Mount Flash, LC-XPro1 Leather Case, 39mm Protector Filter and 52mmProtector Filter. FujiFilm is going to release the X-Pro 1 in February and will announce pricing later.
