AU Optronics (AUO) has developed the world’s first solar-powered touch keyboard solution for notebook PCs. The 14-inch solor touch keyboard draws power from natural and artificial light. It is expected that the keyboard can reduce power usage by 20%.
AUO’s solar keyboard solution consists of a solar panel on notebook’s lid and keyboard panel. The transparent solar-powered keyboard will be showcased on November 10 at the upcoming FPD International 2010 during November 10-12 in Chiba, Japan.
