Sigma announced the new SD1 digital SLR camera, the company latest flagship DSLR model. The SD1 features a 46 Megapixel (4,800×3,200×3 layers) 24x16mm APS-C X3 direct image sensor and dual ‘TRUE (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine) II’ image processing engines. It has a lightweight yet solid magnesium alloy casing and O-ring sealing connections, and a weather-resistant design throughout for use in harsh conditions.
The SD1 offers an autofocus system with 11 point twin cross sensor. It’s pentaprism SLR viewfinder provides 98% vertical, 98% horizontal coverage and 0.95x magnification. The camera uses Type CF memory cards (UDMA compatible). We can expect to see the Sigma SD1 on market in February 2011.
