General Dynamics Itronix introduces the new GB300 fully rugged arm- or chest-worn computer running the Android OS. The device operates like an ultra-sensitive commercial GPS unit or, with the click of a cable, interfaces with tactical radios like the Rifleman Radio (AN/PRC-154) for secure access to the tactical network, and uses SIRF Star III GPS chip and a quadra-helix antenna for real-time global positioning.
The Itronix GB300 has a fully rugged design meeting the MIL-STD 810G specifications for ruggedness. It is powered by a 600MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 256MB of RAM and 8GB internal flash memory storage. The wearable computer has a 3.5-inch 800×480 sunlight readable display with glove-friendly touchscreen, a microSD card slot, USB 2.0 port and a 1550mAh battery for up to 8 hours of use.
