WiMAX 4G service provider Clearwire announced three new 4G devices, the CLEAR Sport 4G and CLEAR 4G+ mobile WiFi hotspots and the CLEAR 4G+ Mobile USB modem. These products are designed to bring 4G connectivity to WiFi-enabled devices such as smartphone, notebook.
The CLEAR Spot 4G and 4G+ both are mobile hotspots that shares 4G connection via WiFi. The CLEAR Spot 4G+ adds support for Sprint’s 3G network. The former can connect up to 8 WiFi devices while the latter shares to only five devices. They are available for purchase at $99.99 or for a $4.99 monthly lease and $224.99 or for a $5.99 lease per month, respectively.
Made by Sierra Wireless, the CLEAR 4G+ Mobile USB is a USB modem supporting both Clearwire’s 4G and Sprint’s 3G network. It is compatible with MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops using Mac OS X Versions 10.5.x and 10.6.x as well as netbooks and notebooks running Windows XP SP2, Vista and Windows 7, all in 32- and 64-bit versions. The new USB modem is priced at $114.99 or leased monthly for $5.99.
