LaCie introduces its new Rugged USB 3.0 external hard drive the utilizes the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interface providing up to 110MB/s transfer speed. As a rugged drive, it is drop-resistant up to 2.2 meters. The drive is backward compatible with USB 2.0.
Available in 500GB, the LaCie’s USB 3.0 drive comes in 7200RPM and 5400RPM versions. LaCie also releases USB 3.0 PCIe card and USB 3.0 PCIe Express card for users to add USB 3.0 ports to their notebook and desktop.
The 7200RPM Rugged USB 3.0 is priced at $149.99 and will be available in May.
