GE (General Electric) announced its Energy Smart LED bulb that will be available later 2010 or early 2011. GE’s LED bulb consumes just 9-watt, provide a 77% energy savings and produce nearly the same light output as a 40-watt incandescent bulb.
The Energy Smart LED is expected to have 25,000-hour rated life that is 25 times longer than ordinary ligh bulb. Thanks to LED technology, the new bulb provides 450 lumens brightness. It has a durable solid-state desing with no filament to break and cntains no mercury and will be RoHS compliant.
