Popcorn Hour introduces the A-110 network media hub that is the successor of the popular A-100. Popcorn Hour A-110 adds support for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA HDD and USB Slave functionality. It is also supporting the new HDMI 1.3a spec enabling support for DTS HD-HR, DTS HD-MA, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD.
With the Popcorn Hour A-110, user can stream their media content. such as video, music and image, from various sources and show them on HDTV. It supports almost all kinds of media formats including the MPEG2 MP@HL, H.264 HP@L4.1, VC-1 AP@L3. The A-110 can also do P2P internet TV streaming fom SayaTV as well as YouTube, Vuze.
The A-110 is powered by Sigma Designs SMP8635 chipset, 256MB SDRAM and 32MB ROM. Other than HDMI 1.3a, the device offers also Component Video, S-video, Composite video, S/PDIF Optical Digital Audio outputs. A-110 can also be used as a BitTorrent client, Network Attached Storage (NAS). It is priced at USD $215.
PopCorn Hour is also offering the B-110 Baseline, which is the barebone version of the A-110 that has no case. It is designed for AV enthusiasts who want to build their own media hub.
